A.W. Brooks, Jr. has been in the field of real estate since 1968. He is currently the Vice President of Management Services for Reliance Management, LLC. This company operates as an Owner/Manager of 57 commercial projects totaling nearly 3.6 million square feet, and is still growing. A.W. is a Certified Property Manager (CPM) from the Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM) and holds a degree in Business/Real Estate from Mesa Community College. He is certified as an Instructor by the Arizona Department of Real Estate. A.W. jokingly boasts of receiving his "Doctorate" degree in Commercial Property Leasing, Sales, and Management from the University of Hard Knocks.

He started out in a very technical aspect of real estate. He was responsible for plotting, drafting, calculating land surveys and legal descriptions of private and public lands that were involved in highway/freeway development throughout the State of Arizona as a Draftsman with the Right of Way Division for the Arizona Department of Transportation. By 1974 he was elevated to the position of Manager, Property Management Services for the Right of Way Division. During his tenure with ADOT, A.W. toured many of the western states giving lectures and courses to other governmental agencies on innovative interim uses of acquired properties, policies and procedures.

As a result of this exposure, in 1979 he took the position of Property Manager for the Maricopa County Flood Control District, in Central Arizona. He was responsible for supervising the management and eventual disposition of all properties and their improvements acquired by the District in its Flood Reach programs.

In 1981 A.W. decided it was time to leave the government sector and enter into the private sector of Property Management. His first entry was with Del E. Webb Development and then to Del E. Webb Realty & Management. He was the Leasing Manager for both Sun City and Sun City West and handled both the Office and Retail Portfolios of the area. This included three major office buildings and nine community shopping centers.

In 1984 he was approached by the Developers of the Biltmore Commerce Center Project which is located at the Northeast corner of 32nd Street and Camelback Road in Phoenix, AZ. He wore many hats in the development of this three story, 285,000 square foot facility. He was Vice President, Designated Broker, Project Manager and Leasing Agent. He was successful in completing the Project at two million dollars under budget. Furthermore, his marketing efforts were recognized by the Arizona Broadcasting Association by being presented the "ADDY" award for Public Relations Campaign in the class of Commercial Office Buildings. With the fall of the commercial office market in 1987, A.W. focused on the Commercial Leasing & Sales Market through several local Real Estate Brokerage firms as a Listing Broker. He was heavily engaged in this field until 1995.

In March of 1995 A.W. went back to his "first love", Property Management, with Reliance Management.
